THE FULL 2025 LINEUP IS HERE!.

The Festival de musique émergente en Abitibi-Témiscamingue and SiriusXM, official presenter, invite you to the 23rd edition of this one-of-a-kind event showcasing the best of new music in the heart of Rouyn-Noranda. From August 28 to 31, FME offers a carefully curated program featuring artists with innovative approaches and distinctive sounds, blending major local headliners with emerging talents, and enriched by a unique international lineup full of exclusives. On the schedule: over 80 performances in concert venues and unexpected spots throughout the city, promising plenty of discoveries for festivalgoers.

Modern French-language pop, hyperpop tinged with neo-R&B, and psychedelic-flavored punk will take over the FME’s outdoor stages…

Young artist Billie du Page kicks off the festivities on the traditional outdoor 7th Street stage, launching the SiriusXM Events. She’ll be followed by BéLi, Marie-Pierre Arthur, and Jay Scøtt. Friday night, the FME brings us a genre-bending blend of psychedelia, offbeat French pop, and cryptic poetry with Population II, Ariane Roy, and finally Klô Pelgag, presenting her powerful, meaning-seeking manifesto Abracadabra. Saturday at 8 PM, it’s the turn of Empanadas Ilegales, The OBGMs, and to cap it all off, legendary Québec band Les Trois Accords. Passes for these shows are still available.

Additionally, the team presents a series of free under-the-stars concerts on the Fizz Stage – also located on 7th Street – featuring Virginie B (Thursday), Anishinaabe-Métis DJ with North African ancestry Handsome Tiger (Friday), and Poolgirl (Saturday).

Saturday at noon, also free, the Family Afternoon takes place, presented by Le Lait. The lineup kicks off with Larynx’s left-field rock, followed by wild punk/new wave band Trop Belle (members of Choses Sauvages, Vanille, Mort Rose).

Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux-Noranda, its Sous-Sol, the Paramount, and the Agora des Arts present bold, one-of-a-kind lineups where chanson, garage, hip-hop, and “bummage” collide…

Montreal disco-punk pioneers We Are Wolves will unveil their long-awaited sixth album Nada on Thursday at Petit Théâtre du Vieux-Noranda, closing a bill that also features Baby Berserk (Amsterdam, NL). On Friday, Les Breastfeeders bring their signature French-language rock & roll, following a performance by La Flemme, all the way from Marseille. Saturday, Moonshine takes over the venue for a night of deep and Afro house-infused celebration. For its traditional metal night, the FME presents the now-legendary Montreal deathcore band Despised Icon on Sunday, joined by Scorching Tomb and Digital Ghost (from Rouyn-Noranda).

For late-night events, head to the Sous-Sol of Le Petit Théâtre to catch Brooklyn’s eclectic post-punk outfit Mary Shelley (Thursday), Puffer’s punk & roll (Friday), the sharp-edged electro of Swiss-Guatemalan artist Baby Volcano (Saturday), and the synthwave concoction of celebrated artist Automelodi (Sunday).

Shreez, a mainstay of the hip-hop scene, presents his new album ON FRAP II Friday at the Paramount, with openers Rowjay and BlackLife. On Saturday, the venue hosts Pierre Lapointe, who promises a unique show where the virtuosic piano duo Fortin-Poirier elevates his repertoire, alongside young singer-songwriter Édouard Tremblay-Grenier. Sunday’s bill features Elle Barbara, followed by a one-time performance from the ephemeral collective Les Freaks de Montréal. The troupe, featuring members of legendary Quebec band Aut’chose, presents a fiery “bummage” tribute to Lucien Francœur. This evening themed around diversity and subversion wraps up with Teke::Teke.

On Friday, the Agora des Arts welcomes Stéphanie Boulay (Les sœurs Boulay), with Bells Larsen as the opening act. The next day, the venue hosts a double bill starring Katrine Noël (Les Hay Babies) and Velours Velours. Sunday early evening, Frannie Holder (Dear Criminals, Random Recipe) turns the Agora into a lab to unveil a brand-new French-language project flirting with trip-hop, synth-pop, and choral vocals.

Across all corners of the city, headliners and emerging acts meet, unifying anthems and sonic experiments intertwine…

The mythical Cabaret de la Dernière Chance kicks off Thursday with electro-punk trio Crasher, a new project from Doldrums’ Airick Asher Woodhead, followed by UTO (Paris, FR) – their North American debut – and Bibi Club. The next day features the sprawling soundscapes of Yoo Doo Right and a blast of melodic punk from Solids. Saturday’s lineup includes new alt-rap act Boutique Feelings (Atsuko Chiba), followed by Magi Merlin and Mike Shabb.

At the Bar du Curling, prepare for a sonic onslaught: on Friday, Belgian artist LANDROSE and Toronto punk rock quartet Bad Waitress. The next day, the bar is taken over by the psychedelic vibes of Cure-Pipe and Fangus.

5 à 7 shows mixing rap, dream pop, and modern chanson…

Among the free concerts of the Air Canada Apéros: three showcases at QG. Friday features cutting-edge hip-hop anthems from Mosez Jones and Winnipeg collective Super Duty Tough Work.
