From <strong>August 28 to 31<\/strong>, FME offers a carefully curated program featuring artists with innovative approaches and distinctive sounds, blending major local headliners with emerging talents, and enriched by a unique international lineup full of exclusives. On the schedule: over <strong>80 performances<\/strong> in concert venues and unexpected spots throughout the city, promising plenty of discoveries for festivalgoers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Modern French-language pop, hyperpop tinged with neo-R&amp;B, and psychedelic-flavored punk will take over the FME\u2019s outdoor stages&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Young artist <strong>Billie du Page<\/strong> kicks off the festivities on the traditional <strong>outdoor 7th Street stage<\/strong>, launching the <strong>SiriusXM Events<\/strong>. She\u2019ll be followed by <strong>B\u00e9Li<\/strong>, <strong>Marie-Pierre Arthur<\/strong>, and <strong>Jay Sc\u00f8tt<\/strong>. Friday night, the FME brings us a genre-bending blend of psychedelia, offbeat French pop, and cryptic poetry with <strong>Population II<\/strong>, <strong>Ariane Roy<\/strong>, and finally <strong>Kl\u00f4 Pelgag<\/strong>, presenting her powerful, meaning-seeking manifesto <em>Abracadabra<\/em>. Saturday at 8 PM, it\u2019s the turn of <strong>Empanadas Ilegales<\/strong>, <strong>The OBGMs<\/strong>, and to cap it all off, legendary Qu\u00e9bec band <strong>Les Trois Accords<\/strong>. Passes for these shows are still available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the team presents a series of free under-the-stars concerts on the <strong>Fizz Stage<\/strong> \u2013 also located on 7th Street \u2013 featuring <strong>Virginie B<\/strong> (Thursday), Anishinaabe-M\u00e9tis DJ with North African ancestry <strong>Handsome Tiger<\/strong> (Friday), and <strong>Poolgirl <\/strong>(Saturday).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday at noon, also free, the <strong>Family Afternoon<\/strong> takes place, presented by Le Lait. The lineup kicks off with <strong>Larynx<\/strong>\u2019s left-field rock, followed by wild punk\/new wave band <strong>Trop Belle<\/strong> (members of Choses Sauvages, Vanille, Mort Rose).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le Petit Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Vieux-Noranda, its Sous-Sol, the Paramount, and the Agora des Arts present bold, one-of-a-kind lineups where chanson, garage, hip-hop, and &#8220;bummage&#8221; collide\u2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Montreal disco-punk pioneers <strong>We Are Wolves<\/strong> will unveil their long-awaited sixth album <em>Nada<\/em> on Thursday at <strong>Petit Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Vieux-Noranda<\/strong>, closing a bill that also features <strong>Baby Berserk<\/strong> (Amsterdam, NL). On Friday, <strong>Les Breastfeeders<\/strong> bring their signature French-language rock &amp; roll, following a performance by <strong>La Flemme<\/strong>, all the way from Marseille. Saturday, <strong>Moonshine <\/strong>takes over the venue for a night of deep and Afro house-infused celebration. For its traditional metal night, the FME presents the now-legendary Montreal deathcore band <strong>Despised Icon<\/strong> on Sunday, joined by <strong>Scorching Tomb<\/strong> and <strong>Digital Ghost <\/strong>(from Rouyn-Noranda).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For late-night events, head to the <strong>Sous-Sol of Le Petit Th\u00e9\u00e2tre<\/strong> to catch Brooklyn\u2019s eclectic post-punk outfit <strong>Mary Shelley<\/strong> (Thursday), <strong>Puffer<\/strong>\u2019s punk &amp; roll (Friday), the sharp-edged electro of Swiss-Guatemalan artist <strong>Baby Volcano<\/strong> (Saturday), and the synthwave concoction of celebrated artist <strong>Automelodi <\/strong>(Sunday).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shreez<\/strong>, a mainstay of the hip-hop scene, presents his new album <em>ON FRAP II<\/em> Friday at the <strong>Paramount<\/strong>, with openers <strong>Rowjay <\/strong>and <strong>BlackLife<\/strong>. On Saturday, the venue hosts <strong>Pierre Lapointe<\/strong>, who promises a unique show where the virtuosic piano duo Fortin-Poirier elevates his repertoire, alongside young singer-songwriter <strong>\u00c9douard Tremblay-Grenier<\/strong>. Sunday\u2019s bill features <strong>Elle Barbara<\/strong>, followed by a one-time performance from the ephemeral collective <strong>Les Freaks de Montr\u00e9al<\/strong>. The troupe, featuring members of legendary Quebec band Aut&#8217;chose, presents a fiery \u201cbummage\u201d tribute to Lucien Franc\u0153ur. This evening themed around diversity and subversion wraps up with <strong>Teke::Teke<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, the <strong>Agora des Arts<\/strong> welcomes <strong>St\u00e9phanie Boulay<\/strong> (Les s\u0153urs Boulay), with <strong>Bells Larsen<\/strong> as the opening act. The next day, the venue hosts a double bill starring <strong>Katrine No\u00ebl <\/strong>(Les Hay Babies) and <strong>Velours Velours<\/strong>. Sunday early evening, <strong>Frannie Holder <\/strong>(Dear Criminals, Random Recipe) turns the Agora into a lab to unveil a brand-new French-language project flirting with trip-hop, synth-pop, and choral vocals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Across all corners of the city, headliners and emerging acts meet, unifying anthems and sonic experiments intertwine&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The mythical <strong>Cabaret de la Derni\u00e8re Chance<\/strong> kicks off Thursday with electro-punk trio <strong>Crasher<\/strong>, a new project from Doldrums\u2019 Airick Asher Woodhead, followed by <strong>UTO <\/strong>(Paris, FR) \u2013 their North American debut \u2013 and <strong>Bibi Club<\/strong>. The next day features the sprawling soundscapes of <strong>Yoo Doo Right <\/strong>and a blast of melodic punk from <strong>Solids<\/strong>. Saturday\u2019s lineup includes new alt-rap act <strong>Boutique Feelings<\/strong> (Atsuko Chiba), followed by <strong>Magi Merlin<\/strong> and <strong>Mike Shabb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the <strong>Bar du Curling<\/strong>, prepare for a sonic onslaught: on Friday, Belgian artist <strong>LANDROSE <\/strong>and Toronto punk rock quartet <strong>Bad Waitress<\/strong>. The next day, the bar is taken over by the psychedelic vibes of <strong>Cure-Pipe<\/strong> and <strong>Fangus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5 \u00e0 7 shows mixing rap, dream pop, and modern chanson\u2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the free concerts of the <strong>Air Canada Ap\u00e9ros<\/strong>: three showcases at <strong>QG<\/strong>. Friday features cutting-edge hip-hop anthems from <strong>Mosez Jones<\/strong> and Winnipeg collective <strong>Super Duty Tough Work<\/strong>. On Saturday, catch <strong>Critique Love<\/strong> \u2013 a new project by composer Antoine Binette-Mercier \u2013 and <strong>Antoine Corriveau<\/strong>, presenting his latest album <em>Oiseau de Nuit<\/em>. Experimental vocalists <strong>Nadah El Shazly<\/strong> and <strong>N Nao<\/strong> share the same stage on Sunday from 5 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>Les Mooses<\/strong> on Friday, catch the gothic-tinged alt-pop of <strong>Apacalda <\/strong>and <strong>Meggie Lennon<\/strong>. Saturday at 4:30 PM, singer-songwriter <strong>Alphonse Bisaillon<\/strong> performs, followed at 5:30 by <strong>Lo\u00efc Lafrance<\/strong>. On Sunday, the social club hosts the psychedelic pop duo <strong>Wizaard <\/strong>and the T\u00e9miscabitibian quintet <strong>Et on d\u00e9jeune<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le Polonais<\/strong> hosts poetic electro-pop from <strong>Fleur de Peau<\/strong> on Friday, and shoegaze sounds from <strong>Perma <\/strong>on Saturday.
