Tourism

There’s lots to discover in Rouyn-Noranda itself and around: visit the Horne smelter mine complex, breathe some fresh air in one of Parc d’Aiguebelle’s numerous hiking trails, enjoy a guided tour around Rouyn-Noranda, walk the historical interpretation trail through the old Noranda, take a trip to the past in Maison Dumulon, be amazed by the Russian orthodox church, admire the remarkable architecture of the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, built with materials that come from the area.

Don’t miss some of the area’s attractions: go underground at La Cité de l’Or, stroll down the streets of Bourlamaque, a former mining village, put yourself in the shoes of the first inhabitants and farmers of the area at the Frère-Moffet House, or tame moose, bears, wolves, deers and fox, taken in and nursed at Refuge Pageau.
